How does SANTUS keep wine fresh?

The SANTUS™ patent pending technology circulates the air in the wine bottle through the oxygen adsorber to filter out any oxygen in the bottle. By filtering in between usage, we can preserve an open bottled of wine for up to 14 days.

Does the SANTUS support decanting?

No it does not. Decanting or aerating is a very important part of wine drinking but they are very easily solved by the many products available in the market. We preserve an open bottle of wine longer and prevent it from being wasted if left unpreserved for more than 3 days.

What items are included in the SANTUS™ packaging?

In addition to the machine, the SANTUS™ packaging comes with a filter cartridge, a box of 4 reusable dispenser tubes, a power adapter and a user manual.

How do I extend the use of the filter cartridge?

Three tips on using SANTUS™:

1. After opening a bottle of wine, please pour directly from the bottle for yourself or your drinking partner(s). Once you are done, prep the bottle with the remaining wine and preserve it in the SANTUS™ . We preserve 8 full bottles of wine. If each bottle is only half bottles left, we can support much more.

2. If there is only one glass of wine left in the bottle, remove the bottle from SANTUS™  and pour the last glass out instead of dispensing. This again saves on the filter cartridge.

3. SANTUS™  will only start filtering the air in the wine bottle 90 mins after the last pour. Multiple pours in between does not consume oxygen absorbers."

What should I do if my Andante or Vibra is not working?

Ensure the filter cartridge is new or has not been used for more than 8 bottles of wine.

Press hard till the wine stopper is tightly secured to the bottle. Ensure that the Vibra hanging cap is properly connected to the wine stopper without gap.

I installed the filter cartridge but the light did not turn green. Why?

Please turn the power off and remove the filter cartridge.  Turn on the power again first before reinstalling the cartridge firmly until you hear the beep sound.

How long can the filter cartridge last?

One filter cartridge can preserve about 8 full bottles of wine. Follow the tips below to extend its usage.

How do I “extend” the use of the filter cartridge?

Three tips on using SANTUS™:

  1. After opening a bottle of wine, please pour directly from the bottle for yourself or your drinking partner(s). Once you are done, prep the bottle with the remaining wine and preserve it in the SANTUS™. We preserve 8 full bottles of wine. If each bottle when secured onto the Santus is less than a full bottle, we can support definitely preserve many more bottles.
  2. If there is only one glass of wine left in the bottle, remove the bottle from SANTUS™ and pour the last glass out instead of dispensing. This again saves on the filter cartridge.
  3. SANTUS™ will only start filtering the air in the wine bottle 90 mins after the last pour. Multiple pours in between do not consume oxygen absorbers."
What wine bottle sizes does the SANTUS™ support?

Andante supports most Bordeaux 750ml wine bottles with a height of 295mm - 315mm and an outer diameter of no more than 80mm.

Vibra supports wine bottles of most sizes with a height of 220mm - 330mm and an outer diameter of no more than 88mm.

When and how often do I need to replace the filter cartridge?

When the indicator light turns orange (for Andante), it means that the filter cartridge is less than 20% full. It is a good time to purchase new cartridges if you are out of it. When the indicator light shows red, then it means that the filter cartridge is completely exhausted, and needs to be replaced. Likewise, if the Santus has not been used for 6 months or longer, it is also recommended to replace the filter as well. These warnings will also be sent as an alert to your Santus App, if the filter alerts are enabled on your App.

You can purchase the filter cartridge directly from the App or go to the official website (www.mysantus.com) to make purchases.

Note: Once the filter cartridge has been installed, please do not remove or tamper with it, otherwise it will affect the system's calculation on filter consumption. Please only remove the cartridge once the indicator light displays red color.

How do I set the temperature of the SANTUS™?

After setting up the machine, the default chamber temperature is set at 15 degrees Celsius by default. Press and hold the platform button (Andante) or temperature button (Vibra) for about 3 seconds until you hear a Beep sound before letting go.

A single Beep means 15 degrees Celsius temperature while two beeps mean 10 degrees Celsius, a temperature more suitable for white; In addition, you can also remotely set the temperature at 1 degree Celsius intervals ( from 10-18 degrees Celsius) from the SANTUS App.

Why does the dispenser tube not reach the bottom of the bottle?

In order to prevent wine sediments from being sucked into the machine, we have included a filter at the end of the tube and left it intentionally a little short. For the last bit of wine that cannot be dispensed, please pour it out into your glass. This also saves on oxygen filter usage.

When do I need to replace the dispenser tubes?

It is recommended to replace one tube for every two bottles of wine. There is no need to purchase these dispenser tubes separately as each filter cartridge comes packed with 4 tubes.

How do I clean the machine?

It is recommended to rinse the machine between bottles of wine if you are concern with inter-mixing of tastes, although the amount of wine within the SANTUS™ is kept to the very minimum. Fill an empty wine bottle with warm water and dispense a glass or two to clean.

A bottle of preserved wine is taken out of the machine after a few days and then put back into the machine. Why is the freshness indicator strip full again?

When a bottle is removed and put back into the chamber, the machine will assume that it is a new bottle of wine, and the countdown starts again from 14 days. Therefore, we suggest that the wine should not be taken out of the machine halfway before it is finished, so as not to affect the machine's judgment of freshness.

Why are there air bubbles after dispensing wine?

After dispensing, SANTUS™ will blow out the remaining wine left in the tube to prevent oxidized wine being mixed in your next pour, hence affecting its taste.

Why is no wine dispensing or dispensing so slowly when I pressed the button?

There are two possibilities: first, there may be no wine left in the bottle.  Please replace a new bottle of wine; Second, the wine stopper may not be installed properly. Please take out the wine bottle and reinstall the dispenser tube and the wine stopper and try again.

When the Andante platform descends, why doesn’t the wine bottle descend with it?

The wine bottle is tightly sealed and connected to the machine to prevent leakage, so this phenomenon is common. Hold the wine bottle and lift up the lever of the wine stopper and you'll find the bottle released.

Why does the Andante platform not automatically lift the wine bottle after closing the door?

It may be that the wine bottle is not placed in the center of the lifting platform, and the stopper stop groove is not aligned with the stop column. Please follow the instructions in the manual (operation steps 05, 06) to reposition the wine bottle.

After the Andante platform is raised, the Ready beep sound is not heard or the wine dispensing LED indicator is still red. What’s the issue?

It may be that the top of the wine stopper is not properly aligned and sealed. Please press the platform button and wait for the lifting platform to return to its lowest position before repeating the wine alignment operation as stated in the manual (operation steps 05, 06, 07), until the beeping prompt sound is triggered. If the same problem persists, then the wine bottle might belong to the few that might not fit well with Andante. Hold the neck of the wine bottle with your hand and gently give it a slight upward lift to manually secure the bottle onto the machine. This usually solves the problem. But if it still does not, please contact our customer service.

Why is the machine still beeping when the Andante platform is rising?

The wine bottle shakes slightly during the lifting process, causing the in-position contacts on the wine stopper to touch the detection electrode on the inner wall. It does not affect the normal alignment of the wine bottle, please rest assured to use it.

What should I do if I cannot distinguish the Bluetooth name of multiple machines when they need to be connected to the Internet?

It is recommended that when there are multiple devices that needs to be set up with a mobile phone via Bluetooth, only the device that is being set up is turned on, and the rest are turned off. After the first machine is successfully connected to the Internet, turn it off and set up the next one.
